Tie Dye

Yesterday I took Juju to Kim's house (one of the MOMsClub member) . She is hosting the tie dye and ice-cream making activities. I did not take any pictures at her house because I was too busy entertaining Misha and helping Julia with her shirts,sorry. Here are the shirts that we tie dyed.

Introducing a new member to our family

Yup! We went to the animal shelter last week and adopted Cupcake!!! She is 4 months old and we got her on the 16th of August 2008. Julia is very happy (well, Christopher is too!!) Me? Hmmmm....

Annie's bridal shower.

Annie (Christoper's sister) is getting married this September and the aunts decided to do a bridal shower for her recently. I did not take a lot of pictures because I was too busy holding Misha (the only boy there) and he was a tad bit fussy that day . Juju will be the flower girl at her wedding.

Yup! Mikhail just turned 6 months old. He can sit without any support from anyone (although sometimes tergolek jugak  . He babbles non-stop. He loves when daddy takes him out to look at the garden. He loves the same first book that we bought for Julia. He takes 2 naps during the day and still wakes up twice at night (poor mummy!!) He loves sweet potatoes, applesauce and hates peas (the baby food of course and I dont blame him) Soon, he will crawl....

Julia and Mikhail are back from vacation

Hey everyone,
We've made it!!! The 12 hours trip , crossing 4 states (Pennsylvania, West Virgina, Virgina and North Carolina) was not bad at all  We got back last Saturday after a whole week vacation at the Myrtle beach in South Carolina.
We started our traveling on Friday after Christopher came back from work. We left home at 5 and met up with Nona and Gapu at a rest stop 2 hours into our drive. This time around,we had to take 2 cars, Gapu with his Porsche and us in the 4wd. We stopped every 2 hours to make sure Mikhail tak meragam. Julia was great. We had a goodie bag for her and bought her a Leapster to keep her entertained. After 6 hours driving we decided to call it a quit for the night. We stopped at a hotel somewhere in Virgina.

Second day
We started our drive very early around 7 in the morning. Why? Because the small monkey was up by 6am. Again, we stopped every 2 hours and from time to time I had to sit in the back with the 2 monkeys to keep Misha entertained. We got into Myrtle beach around 4 pm. We had to wait for Gapu n Nona to get there (they got lost a couple of times, poor them). Right after we checked in, we took Julia to the kids pool. Spent 2 hours there and back to the room to sleep. Tired maa...

third day
We took the kids to the beach. We used our new tent. The tent was great for me and Misha. (Misha is not allowed to use any sun lotion until he is 6 months old) I was able to nurse and put Misha for his nap inside the tent. The best thing about the tent is that , it pops open and you dont have to assemble anything at all!! Anyway, juju decided she does not like the beach.She hated the waves and the sand. She does not like to get her hands wet and sticky from the water. What a bummer!! Padahal masa kat Msia hari tu, punyalah dia excited bermandi manda kat langkawi. I hope this is just another phase and next year she will be back to her normal self. So, after less than 3 hours on the beach and hearing her whining all those 3 hours, we decided to move to the kids pool. She loved it there. She probably spent her whole vacation at the pool. Around 4 pm we headed back to the room to take a rest. Ate our dinner at the condo and went for a stroll on the beach.

4th day
Spent all day at the pools

Julia basically spent most of the time at all three pools, kids, indoor and the main pools (gambar main pool is the one that I took from the lobby)
5th day
Went to the pool in the morning and in the afternoon, we took kids to the Aquarium. Juju had a blast there, so did we. Opps..lupa lak nak cite, we went to the Crab Restaurant for their a dollar crab. We ordered 2 dozens crabs. Chris, his dad and I polished them off right away. Since Nona is allergic to seafood, she got to take care of the kids  . Went back to the hotel and went for a walk at the beach.
6th day
Again...the pool!!! and walk on the beach. Oh did I mention, everytime we went for a walk at the beach, Chris would go into the water and ride the waves.
Julia was not happy getting her feet in the sand..nasib baik ada Sara(her toy horsie) to keep her company..pening, pening
Misha is getting heavier each day.
7th day
Bangun pagi and headed to the pool, mana lagi. Around noon, gapu and nona gave me and chris an hour break from the kids. We headed to the ocean, mana lagi. The water was a bit rough. I was screaming the whole time. Takut ler!!! That evening we went out to the Australian Grille Restaurant to eat fish and lobster. Yummy!! Sorry lah gambar lupa nak ambik.  That night, nona took julia to one of the programs that they have for the kids. She took her to bedtime story and a movie by the pool. Juju watched Happy Feet. They didnot watch the whole movie though..
8th day (Friday)
Spent the morning walking along the beach to collect sea shells and off to the pool we went. Stayed there until noon and headed back to the condo to get ready to leave. We decided to break the trip into two again. We left around 4 and stop after 6 hours drive. We continued the drive the next day and got home around 4. The first thing we did once we reached home, the moment we got out of the car, we went straight to the veggie garden and ate sugar snap peas That is the end of our 1 week vacation. Not looking forward to unpacking and doing laundry.

2 interesting/ funny things happened on our vacation

The first one.
Ok...let me ask you this. Of all of the sport shoes that you can find in this world, what are the chances of you buying the exact same shoes as your dad? I'd say slim to none right? Well...not with Christopher and his dad. We went to their house the day before the vacation and somehow that day Chris decided to wear his new sport shoes that he had bought a month ago. The moment his mom saw the shoes,she started laughing and said.."you know what, I think you dad just bought the same shoes" and we were like "what? No! you mean, the same brand , the same color , the same style?" And sure enough, his dad went to his closet and came out with an identical shoes that he had just bought 3 days ago. Funny or what? 
The second one
This is quite interesting. On our way to the beach, about 2 hours before we reach the resort, Mikhail woke up from his long 3 hours nap and started screaming. So we knew that he must be hungry and we needed to make a stop so I can feed him. And we saw this sign for an antique shop and decided to stop there instead. And when we were driving into the shop's parking (well we park right in front of it axactly) and for a second we thought we were in Malaysia. Macam tak percaya je that this house (antique shop) is not in Malaysia but instead this is in South Carolina. Sebijik macam rumah dulu dulu kat Malaysia kan? But of course, the inside of this shop is very grand and siap ber air-cond. Too bad I did not take the picture of the inside. Sorry!

The family is going to the beach!!!!

Our family will be going for a vacation. This year we are going to Myrtle Beach in S Carolina for a week. I am a bit nervous about the trip. We will be driving for 12 hours to get there. yup!!! Lenguhlah our butts...but what to do, if you want to go to a good beach(nothing compare to beaches in Msia of course), you have to travel that far. Taking the plane is out of question sebab rasanya lagi teruk because there is no direct flight. I am not worried about Julia because she is used to taking long trips and so far she is very good at travelling...my worry lies with baby Mikhail. He hates being in the car and everytime I put him in the car seat, he would scream bloody murder. Tak tahulah macam mana nak entertain him for the whole 12 hours. Anyway...I'll update about it once I get bet. Wish me luck and lets hope for the best. Till then...
