After many years not being able to celebrate Halloween sebab we would always be visiting family in Msia , this year we did! And this make both Chris n Juju happy. They LOVE halloween. And to make things more interesting, both Anne n Emily joined us too. And boy oh by, the DeMarco family sure LOVE Halloween!!!

Three days after Raya we recieved a package from Malaysia from mama Ja. Julia looooveees the baju kurung that mama ja got her. Kebetulan when the package arrived, julia was watching the Alif Ba Ta cd that we got her masa balik Msia last year. So she insisted wearing the baju kurung right there and then and she asked me to cover her head like the girls in the video...again thank you Mama Ja!!!!

Raya 2008

For the first time in 8 years I celebrated raya away from my family. Sedey!!! In fact, this is julia's first raya in the US too. She was a bit upset that we did not go back to Msia this year. Did not realize that Julia associates raya with being in Msia. (yelah...ever since she was born, raya has always been in Msia at Atok n Opah's house). Next year k?
My raya preparation started probably a week before the day of Raya. I wanted to make Raya as much fun n festive as it is in Malaysia especially for Julia. I started searching for recipes for raya cookies n raya dishes from famous fotopages chefs. Thanks to them I was able to find the easiest recipes that I can get. I was able to make 5 types of raya cookies this year. I am lucky that my MIL helped watching after the kids whilst I made the cookies. (kalau tak jangan haraplah nak buat kuih raya).
My dear husband requested my dad's rendang ayam for the day of Raya. He said that raya would not be raya without my dad's rendang ayam. Nasib baik I did help my dad when he was preparing the rendang ayam everytime we went back for Raya. I was very emotional when I started cooking the rendang the night before raya. Yelah, while I was cooking the rendang sorang sorang, I was thinking of my dad cooking with the rest of the family back home and how everyone would be sitting at the table n gossiping . Meriah!!!
Anyway, our raya here was not as bad as I thought it would be. The day of Raya,we had breakfast with my in laws n we did the salam with them n we went to visit other Msian families n we also had an open house where everyone came to celebrate raya with us.
BTW, I am sorry if the quality of the pictures is not so great. My camera is broken and I am still surveying what kind of camera I want to buy so I have to use the iPhone for all of th e pictures I have posted here.

Annie's wedding.

A week before Julia started her school, Annie ( my sister in law) got married. Julia was the flower girl and I was one of the bridesmaids. The wedding was beautiful. (my first American wedding) . Since I was in the bridal party, I was not able to take a lot of pictures. ( will post more pictures once I get hold of pictures from Annie).

My Julia is going to school!!!

Julia started her Pre-K on the 8th of September 2008. She was looking forward to going to school while I was sad to let her go to school. A part of me want her to be with kids her age but another part of me just want to keep her with me for as long as I can. I ended up enrolling her into the Pre-K 3 days a week instead of the Pre-K Mon thru Friday. I figured out this way I at least get to spend time with her Tuesday and Thursday n she gets to go to school on Monday, Wednesday n Friday. A good compromise I'd say.
The day arrived to soon I feel. The morning of her first day at school, I turned into a mamarazzi!!! I literally took pictures of her every step to school until she screamed " Enough mummy!!"

Long time no see...

Hi all,
Sorry for the long silence. I have been really busy lately. Julia has started her Pre-K, 3 times a week. My life has somehow turned upside down since julia started her schoo about a month ago. On top of doing the things I've been doing from cleaning the house( especially the floor now that Mikhail is crawling), doing the laundry (somehow the kids clothes are forever dirty) , folding clothes (which I HATE) ,ironing the clothes, cooking, entertaining Misha n Juju, taking the kids for walks, doing groceries, paying the bills, now I have to add driving julia pergi n balik sekolah, n taking her to her ballet class, n I might add in two weeks time, I will also be taking her to her piano class. Man oh man...my list goes on and on and on and on....
On top of all the above, Misha is now crawling like crazy. The moment he wakes up in the morning (usually around 6, 630 am if I am lucky) , this boy does not no how to stop. The only time he is quiet is when he takes his nap. He would zoom around the house and pick what ever his heart desires ( dirt is his fav.) . I can no longer put him down and leave him by himself. And as of 3 days ago, he is starting to climb. The one place that I dont want him to go , is his favorite place to climb, the fire place. Help!!!
Don't get me wrong, I may sound like I am complaining (maybe tiny bit) , I would not trade living the life I am living now for anything. The only thing I would want right now is to have my Malaysia family here with me too. Then my life would be complete!! I love being able to take care of my family n watching the kids grow everyday. I enjoy the drive to and from school n listening to Julia talking about her day at school. I love spending the one to one time with Misha while his sister is at school.I love peeping into Julila's ballet class, watching her doing ballet moves. Mikhail too is doing much better being in the car now. As long as I turn on the " Music Together" cd, he would either go to sleep or he would be busy watching his sister talking.
Despite all of the work I have to do, I have to admit, I am one happy Momma!!!

Yup!! Anakku ini semakin buas but still adorable.He is also showing the sign that he will crawl anytime soon.Habislah mummy, dah lah bulan posa sure penat nak kejar dia..tak pe tak pe, bolehlah kurus sikit kan? Mulut dia tak payah nak cakap lah..just like his sister, cuma kita tak faham jer.
Meanwhile,Julia will go to Pre-K next week (huwwaaaa...) She is very excited to go to school n maknyer yang sedih. I'll take her first day of school picture next week.
